About

All Creation Sings is the blog of Gareth Hill, a Methodist Pioneer Minister based in Cornwall and working to ‘do church for people who don’t do church’ on the Roseland Peninsula, just outside Truro.

Gareth is a former newspaper editor and an award-winning hymnwriter. He comes from the Pontypool area of South Wales, somewhere that until the mid-1970s was in Monmouthshire; neither Wales nor England. The people could choose where they put their allegiance and for Gareth choosing to be Welsh was never in doubt. His mongrel upbringing may have had some influence on his stroppy nature.

He is as passionate about being Welsh as he is about being a follower of Jesus Christ – or should that really be the other way round   :)

Much of his work is outside the inherited church, as he tries to bridge the cultural gaps and be better at pub quizzes. His best experiences are being named the BBC hymnwriter of the year in 2007 and celebrating two Welsh rugby Grand Slams in 2005 and 2008.

Gareth has been married to Joy for 31 years and they have two children, Sian who is married to Damien, and Andrew who is married Rose. They have two grandsons, Rhys and Matthew.
