Gareth Hill

Gareth workAll Creation Sings is the blog of Gareth Hill, a Methodist Minister based in Romsey in the Southampton District of the British Methodist Church. He has pastoral charge of six churches: Romsey, Cadnam, Wellow, Landford, Canada Common and Nomansland. They form part of the Winchester, Eastleigh & Romsey Circuit.

Up to September 2015 he worked as the Connexional Development Officer for the Methodist Church and launch editor of the new national magazine for the church, the connexion.

Previously, Gareth has worked as Head of Mission and Advocacy in the church’s London-based staff and a pioneer minister on the Roseland Peninsula, just outside Truro. As the minister of a number of chapels in the north of Cornwall he also pioneered the Tubestation surf church, which grew from five members to more than 300 – complete with an indoor skate ramp.

Gareth is a former newspaper editor and an award-winning hymnwriter. He comes from the Pontypool area of South Wales and is as passionate about being Welsh as he is about being a follower of Jesus Christ – or should that really be the other way round?

Gareth has been married to Joy for 38 years and they have two children. Sian is married to Damien and they have a daughter Cerys and a son Joshua. Andrew is married to Rose and they have two boys, Rhys and Matthew, and a daughter, Bethany.
